The Epic Tale of Enochs Fish & Chips: A Crispy Legacy!

Picture it: 1963. The Beatles were crooning about holding hands, the Profumo scandal was spicier than a chip shop’s curry sauce, and a chap named Arthur “Enoch” Hughes had a lightbulb moment brighter than a Llandudno sunset. He decided to open a swanky fish and chip shop on a bustling North Wales road in Llandudno Junction, just a chip’s throw from the medieval charm of Conwy and the Victorian promenade of Llandudno. And thus, Enochs Fish & Chips was born, frying up memories as golden as our batter ever since!

A New Crew Takes the Helm

After years of flipping fish and perfecting the art of the crispy chip, Arthur hung up his apron and passed the fryer to the Carmichael clan—Clive, Diana, and their chip-loving family. They kept Enoch’s name sizzling, dishing out deliciousness to locals and tourists alike. The good times rolled until a tunnel under the Conwy River gave Clive and Diana the perfect cue to jump ship, handing the keys to the Norcliffe family, seasoned fish-fryers from Manchester, ready to write the next chapter.

The Norcliffes hit the ground running, but life threw them a curveball when illness struck. With the family rocked, two brothers took turns steering the ship, keeping the fryers hot and the legacy alive. It wasn’t until 2016 that Danny and Donna grabbed the captain’s hat and turned Enochs into a proper legend. These two didn’t just fry fish—they revolutionised the chippy game!

A Bumpy Ride, But the Chips Kept Frying

Leading the Charge with Heart and Soul

Danny and Donna brought a fresh vibe while staying true to tradition. They became the first fish and chip shop in Wales to earn Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) accreditation, proving their cod is as sustainable as it is scrumptious. They also swapped out the old frying oil for Heart Healthy Oil, making your fish supper a little kinder to your ticker. Talk about frying with a conscience!
